The mini-JPAS: A Study of the Wavelength Dependence of the Photon Response Nonuniformity of the JPAS-Pathfinder Camera

Abstract Understanding the origins of small-scale flats CCDs and their wavelength-dependent variations plays an important role in high-precision photometric, astrometric, shape measurements astronomical objects. Based on unique flat data 47 narrowband filters provided by JPAS-Pathfinder, we analyze as a function wavelength. We find moderate (from about 1.0% at 390 nm to 0.3% 890 nm) among different filters, increasing toward shorter wavelengths. Small-scale two close central wavelengths are strongly correlated. then use simple physical model reproduce observed precision ±0.14% considering charge collection efficiencies, effective areas, thicknesses between CCD pixels. that JPAS-Pathfinder camera originate from inhomogeneities quantum efficiency (particularly efficiency), well area thickness The former dominates short wavelengths, while latter dominate longer effects proper flat-fielding, photometric/flux calibrations for photometric/slitless spectroscopic surveys, discussed, particularly blue filters/wavelengths. also parameters sensitive depending relations electron absorption depth, photon length, thickness.
